What does a Reiki session involve?
To receive a Reiki treatment you can be fully clothed and sitting in a comfortable chair or lying down on a treatment table, whichever you feel more comfortable with. You have an option to listen to some gentle and relaxing music during your session.
I will place hands lightly on you or if you prefer just above your body. The positions include around your head and shoulders, back, stomach and feet.
According to your needs, more attention can be given to specific areas such as your wrists or back, depending on where the particular problem lies. Each position is held for a few minutes depending on how much Reiki you need at each position.
The treatment usually lasts for around 45 minutes after which time is provided for you to summarise how you feel in a relaxing and supportive environment.
My clients confirm they are more positively refreshed with a more balanced attitude and state of mind after their sessions.
What happens during your first session?
During your first session, it is important that we get to know one another and for you to feel comfortable and at ease with our working relationship.
If you are new to Reiki I will explain that I practice the Usui Method of Reiki Spiritual Healing and that I am a Reiki Master. I will also tell you about my journey into Reiki and how it helped me personally.
I will ask you about your present situation and a little about your background, your hopes and dreams for the future, and any support or treatment you may have had previously to help me understand how best I can help you.
Working together will enable you to manage the pace and depth of support that I can provide for you, so that you don’t feel overwhelmed or anxious in any way. I understand that you need to be able to live your life in between sessions and start to make changes you are comfortable with and in ways that are beneficial and helpful for you.
How will I work with you?
My aim is to provide you with a supportive and confidential relationship where you feel comfortable and trusting about sharing your thoughts and feelings. I will listen to you with empathy and understanding and never judge or question you about what your concerns might be,
Once we’ve established which areas you need help with such as stress or neck pains, for example, I will explain what a Reiki treatment involves.
